Beverly Hills Film Festival 2018 Selects “Prying Eyes” for Screenplay Competition

I am delighted to announce that my screenplay “Prying Eyes” is an official selection of the 2018 Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Besides working to put together the Hollywoodland Podcast, I am also working on my own projects consisting of producing a micro-budget feature and marketing several feature-length screenplays.

This is the second film festival to select the screenplay for competition having previously been selected for the Hollywood International Cinefest.

The selection of “Prying Eyes” will give me the opportunity to attend the Beverly Hills festival that will be held April 4th through 8th, meet the other filmmakers, screenwriters, and attendees and spend time with my fellow artist.

I am very honored and am looking forward to meeting all that will be attending the festival screenings and nightly afterparties.

See you there!

Prying Eyes – My First Festival Submission

Prying Eyes

I am pleased to announce that my first festival submission for my feature screenplay “Prying Eyes”  has been named an official selection to the Hollywood International Cinefest that will take place the weekend of June 24-25 2017.

Hollywood International Cinefest

The Hollywood International Cinefest is designed to concentrate on providing filmmakers real world connections to help them progress their careers.

It was this unique approach that prompted me to make it the first festival that I submitted Prying Eyes.

Per their website:

THE FESTIVAL

Fact 1: Hundreds of distributors world over are looking for content.

Fact 2: Hundreds of film-makers/screenplay writers are looking for a distribution/ development deal

Fact 3: Majority of film-makers don’t get a deal

We are looking to change this irony.

Hollywood International CineFest partnered with studio executives, distributors and filmmakers to understand and address this irony. We believe that the key to success is being at the right place, at the right time and with the right proposal.

Ask yourself- is going to Disney with a “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” type of movie good idea? Would Michael Bay be interested in Requiem for a Dream kind of movie? Would a distributor who specializes in small budget movie be interested in your multi-million dollar proposal?

At Hollywood International CineFest our focus is to match the right project with the right distributor and the right platform. We carefully look at all projects submitted to us and submit for a distribution or a development deal.

We understand that as a filmmaker your main focus is to keep your creative juices flowing. But movie-making also a business. Whether it is a feature, a TV series, a documentary or short, we need to know the market and plan our next moves accordingly.

In 2017, a total of 9 distribution/development deals were made!

Prying Eyes

I very much believe in their mission and that type of thinking went into writing Prying Eyes in the first place.

I wanted a unique story that could be shot on a low budget but had incredible potential.

I am very proud that it was an official selection of the Hollywood International Cinefest.
